1. Not legal advice
MyGreenCard provides general information about U.S. immigration law and procedures. The information on this site does not constitute legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship. For advice about your specific situation, consult a licensed immigration attorney.
2. Accuracy
We strive for accuracy and update content regularly. However, immigration law and policy change frequently. Verify all critical information with USCIS, State Department, or a licensed attorney before making decisions.
3. Use of the service
- You may use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes
- You may not scrape, copy, or redistribute substantial portions of the content without written permission
- You may quote and link to content with attribution
- You may not use the service to provide unauthorized legal services
- You may not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
4. User accounts
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure
- You're responsible for all activity under your account
- One person, one account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
5. Forum and community content
- You retain ownership of content you post
- By posting, you grant MyGreenCard a license to display, distribute, and adapt your content for site operation
- You may not post content that's illegal, harassing, fraudulent, infringing, or harmful
- We may remove content or suspend accounts for violations
6. Attorney matching
- Attorney matches are not endorsements
- Attorneys listed are independent practitioners, not employees or agents of MyGreenCard
- You're responsible for your own due diligence on any attorney you engage
- We may receive referral compensation from attorneys; this does not influence editorial content
7. Subscriptions and donations
- Pro subscriptions are billed monthly until cancelled
- Donations are not tax-deductible (we are not a 501(c)(3))
- Refunds available within 14 days of subscription start, prorated
8. Intellectual property
- MyGreenCard content (excluding user-generated content) is owned by MyGreenCard or licensed
- You may not use our trademarks without permission
- Educational fair use is permitted
9. Disclaimers
- Service provided "as is" without warranties
- We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted service
- We are not responsible for third-party content or services
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyGreenCard's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to $100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify MyGreenCard against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms. You may terminate your account anytime via the dashboard.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Jurisdiction]. Disputes resolved in [Jurisdiction] courts, except where consumer protection laws require otherwise.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes notified to account holders 30 days before effective date.
