MyGreenCard is an independent immigration information resource — not a law firm, not affiliated with USCIS or any government agency. We exist to make U.S. permanent residency processes navigable for the millions of people facing them each year.
What we do
- Comprehensive guides for every green card pathway, written in plain English
- Free tools and calculators for the actual decisions applicants face
- Active community forum for applicants to share experiences and ask questions
- Vetted attorney directory with free consultations
- Filing fee grants and contests funded by community donations
- Country-specific guidance for major source countries
- Multilingual content in 8 languages
What we don't do
- We do not give legal advice. The information here is general; your specific situation requires an attorney.
- We do not file forms for you. We provide guides and checklists; you (or your attorney) file with USCIS.
- We do not promise outcomes. No information resource can guarantee USCIS approval — anyone who does is a scammer.
- We do not sell your data. User information stays with us, used only to provide the services you request.
How we're funded
- Reader donations — primary funding, especially for filing fee grants
- Vetted attorney partners — pay flat referral fees only when applicants explicitly request matching and proceed with a consultation
- Display advertising — limited and clearly labeled
- Pro subscriptions — $5/month for power users wanting real-time alerts and unlimited saved calculations
We do not accept payment in exchange for content placement, recommendations, or rankings. Editorial content is independent of advertiser and partner relationships.
Editorial standards
- All content reviewed by licensed immigration attorneys before publication
- Major regulatory changes addressed within 30 days of effective date
- Errors corrected with clear timestamps and changelogs
- Sources cited where verification matters (statutes, court cases, USCIS policy)
The team
MyGreenCard is run by a small team of immigration practitioners, content specialists, and engineers. The site's owner is an immigration applicant himself — the project began as personal documentation that grew into a public resource.
We're hiring writers, attorneys, and engineers passionate about immigration. Reach out via the contact page if interested.
